This chromium carbide-based material is agglomerated with nickel-chrome to achieve very hard, wear, and impact resistant properties. This material was designed for manufacturing coatings applied via cold spray with either nitrogen or helium carrier gas. Compared to WIP-C1, the chromium content in WIP-C2 has been optimized to boost the hardness of the material while still maintaining dense deposits with low porosity. Deposits can be machined by either milling or turning and/or ground. WIP – C2 has very high flowability and is inertly vacuum sealed for long shelf life and transport. WIP – C1 can be vacuum packaged in 1, 2.5, 10 pound bags.
